The poverty rate of households falls to 3.41%

ABO - According to the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee, in 2018, by implementing the national target program on sustainable poverty reduction, all levels of committees, authorities, departments, agencies and unions in the province have made efforts to take care of and improve material life and the spirit for the poor, the poverty rate has reduced rapidly from 4.19% (in 2017) to 3.41%.

Many organizations and individuals inside and outside the province also actively responded to and supported programs to care for poor households and near poor households 111.98 billion VND.

Thanks to this support, the province built 12 gratitude houses and 965 houses for poor households; organizing free medical examination and treatment, giving gifts to the poor with a total amount of 2.37 billion VND; awarding scholarships, supporting poor students and disadvantages students to study well with 15.37 billion VND; giving gifts to poor and near poor households on the occasion of holidays and Tet with a total value of 46.36 billion VND, and many other social security programs, etc...
