Flag to be flown at half staff during national mourning of former President
ABO/VNA – The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued a dispatch requesting all public offices and Vietnamese representative agencies overseas to fly flags at half-staff during the national mourning for former President Le Duc Anh on May 3 and 4.

Dispatch No.1632/CD-BVHTTDL, which is sent to ministries, sectors, people’s committees of cities and provinces nationwide, also instructs the cancellation of all celebrations, art performances, sport events and recreational activities during the two days.
Former Politburo member and former President Le Duc Anh passed away at 20:10 on April 22 in Hanoi.
The respect-paying ceremony for the former President will start at 7 am on May 3 at the National Funeral Hall on No.5 Tran Thanh Tong Street, Hanoi. At the same time, respect-paying and memorial ceremonies for the former leader will also be held at Thong Nhat Hall in Ho Chi Minh City, and the Hall of the People’s Committee of Thua Thien Hue province.
