Tien Giang province honors outstanding blood donors

ABO - The Tien Giang Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation has just held a ceremony on June 14 to honored outstanding blood donors of the province in 2019.

Implementing the campaign to mobilize blood for the Red Spring Festival 2018, in the first 5 months of 2019, the whole province has organized 39 blood collections with more than 5,300 participants, receiving more than 6,589 blood units, worth of 1,179 billion VND.

In comparison with the plan of 2019, Tien Giang province strives to mobilize over 3,800 blood units, far exceeding the plan, ensuring enough blood to serve in emergency work and treatment at hospitals throughout the province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Standing Vice Chairman of the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee Le Van Nghia praised the voluntary blood donation movement in the province, which has achieved many positive results, meeting the need for patients' blood during the time. He also called on all social classes to actively participate in the voluntary blood donation movement, making the blood donation increasingly spreading in Tien Giang province.

On this occasion, the Tien Giang provincial Red Cross Association, the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee, the Steering Committee for voluntary blood donation campaign awarded certificates of merit to collectives and individuals with achievements in the blood donation movement 2019.
