According to the report, at 16:30 on July 2, 2019, Tien Giang province recorded pigs infected with the African swine fever at 336 households, with nearly 15,800 pigs of 47 communes in 4 districts and towns such as Cai Be district, Cai Lay district, Chau Thanh district and Cai Lay town. In which, 141 cases were positive for the African swine fever; 132 cases of rapid were positive test in the hamlet without test for the African swine fever and 63 cases of infected pigs in hamlets with the African swine fever.

Functional industry destroyed 11,460 pigs of 287 households with pigs infected with African cholera, with a volume of over 789.7 tons. In addition, the 30-4 pig farm of Tien Giang Animal Husbandry company also occurred the African swine fever and destroyed over 1,270 pigs with over 145.9 tons.

The professional branch said that the situation of the African swine fever in Tien Giang province is still complicated; The transporting, slaughtering, buying and selling pigs and pig products created many routes of infection with the African swine fever, especially small traders, buy pigs. In addition, the use of surface water for swine baths, poor management of pig baths along the roads, etc… were also high risk factors.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan emphasized: The whole political system has joined to prevent and fight the African swine fever. All solutions are applied to the prevention but the epidemic still occurs.

He asked the functional industry to continue propagating about the harms of the African swine fever. In areas where epidemics are not yet available, the functional sector has to promote propaganda for farmers to know how to prevent and fight the African swine fever.

In addition, districts and towns have to pay money to workers in the destruction of pigs. Particularly, the support of money for infected pig breeding households, if local authorities are slow, the responsibility of the local leaders will be considered, etc...
