At the beginning of the peak months of the season, plus adverse weather conditions, prolonged heat waves alternating with heavy rains have caused mosquitoes to spread and develop strongly.
Experts all predict that in the coming time, the number of cases will continue to increase and break out on a large scale without taking aggressive measures to prevent it.
Department of Health further said the localities with the highest number of cases are Cai Lay town, Cai Be district, My Tho city, etc… Especially, in February 2019, there was 1 fatality in My Tho city. The number of dengue cases in children accounts for 49.9% of the total number of dengue cases in the province.
In the context that the disease is forecast to be more complicated, with a risk of increasing the number of cases, the Department of Health has set up many many working missions to supervise and direct the prevention of dengue fever in the localities with high risk.
