Three Vietnamese universities named in World University Rankings

ABO/NDO - The Vietnam National University - Hanoi, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, and the Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City have recently been named in the Times Higher Education (THE)’s World University Rankings.

The Vietnam National University - Hanoi and Hanoi University of Science and Technology are ranked in the top 801-1000th standings, while the Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City are ranked in the out of the top 1001+.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2020 includes almost 1,400 universities across 92 countries, standing as the largest and most diverse university rankings ever to date.

It is the only global university league table to judge research-intensive universities across each one of their core missions: teaching (the learning environment); research (volume, income and reputation), international outlook (staff, students and research); citations (research influence); and industry income (knowledge transfer).

For the fourth year in a row, the University of Oxford leads the rankings in first place, while the University of Cambridge falls to third. The California Institute of Technology has been promoted three places to second, while Stanford, Yale, Harvard and Imperial College London all appear in the top ten.

Several new regions join the rankings this year including Brunei, Cuba, Malta, Montenegro, Puerto Rico and Vietnam, they all see institutions represented for the first time.
