To enhance leadership responsibility in dengue prevention and control, Vice Chairman of the PPC urged

ABO – On October 24, Vice Chairman of the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee (PPC) Tran Van Dung chaired the meeting related prevention and control of dengue fever and hand, foot and mouth disease in the western districts and towns.

According to Tien Giang Department of Health, as of October 23, the whole province recorded 4,632 cases of dengue fever, an increase of 195% compared to 2018 and there were 3 deaths in My Tho city, Cho Gao district and Chau Thanh district. The number of dengue cases is concentrated mainly in western districts and towns.

Up to October 20, the whole province noted 1,985 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease; of which, the three localities with the highest increase in this disease over the same period as Chau Thanh district (235 cases, up 50%), My Tho city (255 cases, up 42%) and Cho Gao district (178 cases, up 35%), etc…

Directing the meeting, comrade Tran Van Dung asked members of the Steering Committee for disease prevention in provinces and districts to strengthen inspection and supervision of the implementation of responsibilities in disease prevention and control.

Tien Giang Department of Information and Communications needs to renovate the way of propaganda on the mass media. The health sector has been more active in prevention and treatment.
