Quon Long commune recognized as new rural area

ABO - The Tien Giang provincial Standing Steering Committee for National Targeted Program proclaimed Quon Long commune of Cho Gao district as new rural commune, on December 2.

This event saw an attendance of there was attendance of Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Tien Giang provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department Chau Thi My Phuong; Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Van Dung; departments, agencies, unions and numerous local people.

Comrade Chau Thi My Phuong and comrade Tran Van Dung award the certificate and welfare project to Quon Long commune.

After six years of building new rural areas, Quon Long commune has implemented many works with the motto "State and people work together", with a total amount of 135 billion VND; in which people donate land, architectural objects, cash over 57.3 billion VND, the rest is state capital support and mobilize donors, thereby contributing to renovating the rural face and improving life cultural and spiritual life of the people.

The transport infrastructure in rural areas has developed. The people's material and spiritual life raised, the average income per capita is over 50 million VND per person per year. The poverty rate reduced to 1.41 percent; 100% of people in the commune can use electricity and ensure electricity safety, etc…

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Tran Van Dung acknowledged and praised the results achieved by the Party Committee, the authority and the people of Quon Long commune. At the same time, he suggested that Quon Long commune need to have specific plans and solutions to improve the quality of the achieved criteria.

On this occasion, the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee awarded the emulation flag and welfare project worth 1 billion VND to Quon Long commune.
