ABO – On April 8, Chairman of Tien Giang People's Committee (PPC) Le Van Huong, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, chaired the provincial online meeting on checking the Covid-19 prevention in the province.

According to Tien Giang Department of Health, the province completed the second medical isolation at the Provincial Military School on the morning of April 7, with 242 Vietnamese citizens including 238 returning from Australia and 4 citizens returned from Cambodia.

Up to now, the province has not detected cases of Covid-19 disease. Currently, the unit has coordinated with the Provincial Military Command to conduct disinfection of the quarantine area at the Provincial Military School in order to prepare the quarantine work for immigrants returning to Vietnam according to the regulations.

Speaking at the meeting, local leaders said that the Prime Minister has well implemented the Directive No. 16 on COVID-19 prevention and control. However, there are still a number of small businesses and people who have not complied with safety measures as recommended. Currently, localities have prepared plans and solutions to prevent epidemics if any infection occurs. Besides, many solutions to ensure security and order were also implemented.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the PPC Le Van Huong suggested that departments, branches and localities continue to strictly implement the Prime Minister's Directive 16. It is necessary to step up the inspection, to remind and handle small businesses, business households and people who have not strictly complied with measures to Covid-19 prevent and control, especially in traditional markets in rural areas and industrial parks and complexes.
