Vietnam receives 400,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine from Japan

ABO/NDO - A plane carrying approximately 400,000 doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine donated by the Japanese Government landed at Tan Son Nhat Airport, Vietnam, on the morning of September 25.

 

Since June this year, the Japanese Government has provided aid of about 3.18 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine to Vietnam.

 

This delivery of 400,000 doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine brings the total for vaccine donations from Japan to Vietnam to 3.58 million doses

Japan will continue to cooperate with Vietnam to soon control the epidemic.

 

So far, Vietnam has received more than 50 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines of various types, including AstraZeneca vaccine, Vero Cell vaccine, Moderna vaccine, Pfizer vaccine, and Sputnik V vaccine. These vaccines were distributed in 45 batches, in which the most recent allocation was 8 million doses of Vero Cell vaccine on September 19.

 

As of the end of September 24, 37.6 million doses of vaccine have been given to people so far, including more than 22.3 million first shots and 7.3 million second jabs, reaching 72% of the total number of vaccines distributed. The rate of injection of at least one dose of vaccine is 41.1% of the population aged 18 years and older.

 

About 14 million doses are still being injected, of which about 10.5 million new doses have been allocated since September 16.
