Congratulations extended to Buddhist Sangha on 40th founding anniversary
ABO/NDO - President of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front (VFF) Do Van Chien visited the Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha (VBS) on November 5 on the occasion of its 40th founding anniversary.
At the meeting with Buddhist leaders, Chien expressed his joy and extended his best wishes to all Buddhist monks, nun and laypeople.

He spoke highly of the contributions of all Buddhists in socio-economic development and in activities taking care of people facing disadvantage and natural disasters.
Chien also highlighted the role of Buddhists in the fight against COVID-19 with financial donations, medical assistance and charitable meals for those affected by the pandemic.
For his part, the Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu thanked the Party, State and VFF for paying attention to the sangha’s activities.
He affirmed that the VBS will continue encouraging its members to follow the Party and State’s policies and laws and take an active part in social work to support poor people and those affected by COVID-19.
* On the occasion of the VBS’s 40th founding anniversary, the Social Sciences Publishing House released a book on the 40-year history of the VBS, penned by the Most Venerable Thich Thanh Dien.
