Vietnam Journalists' Association elects 52-strong Executive Committee
ABO/NDO – The 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association (VJA) elected a 52-strong Executive Committee and an Inspection Committee with 15 members at its working session in Hanoi on December 30.
An examination report by Head of the VJA’s Inspection Committee Phan Huu Minh showed that among a total of 550 official delegates, 139 are women, accounting for 25.28 percent and 411 are men, or 74.72 percent. The oldest delegate is 80 years old and the youngest is 32 years old.

About educational qualifications, five are professors and associate professors (0.9 percent), 23 hold doctorate degrees (4.18 percent), 111 hold master degrees (20.18 percent), 411 have bachelor degrees (74.74 percent), and 538 are Party members (97.82 percent).
The Executive Committee later convened its first meeting during which it elected a standing board and President and Vice Presidents of the VJA for the 11th tenure.
Earlier in the morning, the Congress adopted its agenda, working regulations and rules for the election of the Executive Committee, and listened to a Political Report, a Report on amendments and supplements to the Charter, a report on the inspection work for the 2015-2020 tenure, and a report examining the eligibility of delegates. Delegates also discussed in groups personnel nominated for election to the Executive Committee.
