Humanitarian Month launched in Ho Chi Minh City and six Central Highlands provinces
ABO/NDO – The Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross Society launched the Humanitarian Month 2022 in Ho Chi Minh City and six Central Highlands provinces on May 5.
This year’s Humanitarian Month, themed “Community cohesion - Spreading acts of kindness”, aims to raise public awareness and spread the spirit of solidarity and mutual compassion among the people.

Now in its fourth year, the Humanitarian Month initiated by the Vietnam Red Cross Society has raised over 50 billion VND, helping nearly 1 million needy people in Ho Chi Minh City and Central Highlands provinces.
According to President of the Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross Society Tran Truong Son, the Humanitarian Month will last until the end of May. During the month, the Red Cross Society at all levels will strengthen its activities to take care of people’s health and support those in difficult circumstances, especially those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ho Chi Minh City and six Central Highlands provinces hope to raise 20 billion VND during this month and provide support for about 15,000 people in need.
Disadvantaged people will be provided with means of livelihood, medical equipment, accommodation, scholarships, clean water systems, and other necessities.
