The memorial site dedicated to President Ho Chi Minh on Co To Island was built in 1968 and recognised as a national site in 1997.
Following the late leader’s teachings, Co To Island has been transformed from a poor island into a “blue gem” of Vietnam’s north-eastern region. The island has been connected to the national grid while transport to and from the mainland has also become much safer and more convenient.
The island is striving to become a model new rural area and a high-quality marine tourism centre.
On the occasion, Co To Island also kicked off the 2022 tourism season.
