Work starts on Ben Rung Bridge connecting Hai Phong with Quang Ninh

ABO/NDO – A groundbreaking ceremony for the Ben Rung Bridge connecting Thuy Nguyen district in Hai Phong with Quang Yen town in Quang Ninh province was held in Hai Phong on May 13.

The bridge, spanning the Da Bach River, has a total investment of nearly 2 trillion VND (86.6 million USD).
The bridge measures over 1.87km in length and 21.5m in width with six lanes.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh attended the groundbreaking ceremony, stating that Hai Phong and Quang Ninh are two localities with strong infrastructural development.

Therefore, he expects that when the Ben Rung Bridge will be put into operation, it will become a driving force for regional development and creating jobs for many people.

According to Chairman of Hai Phong People’s Committee Nguyen Van Tung, upon its completion, the bridge will complete the traffic network between Hai Phong, Quang Ninh and the northern region.

He suggested the investor and contractors focus their resources on ensuring the progress of the project and complete the bridge by the end of 2023.
