Programme to be launched to care for the poor
ABO/NDO- The annual programme entitled ‘Join hands to support the poor’ will be organised at the Cultural Friendship Palace in Hanoi on October 17, as reported by Vice Chairwoman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Truong Thi Ngoc Anh at a press conference held in Hanoi this morning.
As of 11 am on September 14, 53 units have registered to donate more than 1.1 trillion VND to the programme.
The money raised at the programme will be channelled to the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels to provide financial support to help local disadvantaged people escape poverty.

People can contribute to the fund through bank transfer to the bank account numbers: V999 of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of. Vietnam (Vietcombank), 1000001000171717 at Vietnam Bank for Social Policies Transaction Office, or 3761.0.9054386.91046 at Vietnam State Treasury’s Hoan Kiem Branch.
Since 2000, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels have mobilised more than 78.9 trillion VND, donated by agencies, organisations, individuals and businesses across the country, as part of the Fund for the Poor’ and social welfare programmes.
The money has been used to build or upgrade social houses, provide health check-ups and treatment to the poor and present scholarships to students living in difficult circumstances across the country.
