Over 1,000 join run in Ho Chi Minh City to mark Earth Hour

ABO/NDO- On March 25, a running competition took place in Ho Chi Minh City, with the participation of over one thousand people, as part of the Earth Hour programme activities.

The event was also designed to celebrate the 92nd anniversary of the founding of the Youth Union and mark the 2023 Olympic running day for public health.

Runners competed at a distance of four kilometres through many major streets in Ho Chi Minh City.

Tran Thu Ha, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, said through the running contest, the city’s young people want to communicate the message of green life to help with the common efforts of saving energy, protecting the environment and fighting climate change.

Also on the morning of March 25, many local Youth Union units held various activities to mark Earth Hour, such as cleaning up the environment, planting trees and communicating about the use of environmentally friendly products.

As scheduled, Earth Hour will take place on the evening of March 25, during which unnecessary electric devices will be turned off for one hour from 20:30 to 21:30.
