Conference seeks to improve the quality of journalistic activities
ABO/NDO- A conference was held in the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang on October 26 to summarise 17 years of the National Press Awards, the work of supporting high-quality journalistic works in 2022 and implementing the support programme for the 2023-2024 period.
The event was chaired by Member of the Party Central Committee (PCC), Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper, Deputy Head of the PCC Commission for Communication and Education, and Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association (VJA) Le Quoc Minh.
Speaking at the conference, the Chairman of the VJA Le Quoc Minh emphasised, that through 11 congresses, under the leadership and close direction of the Party and the management and care of the State, the VJA has constantly grown in both quantity and quality, with nearly 25,000 members from 63 Provincial and City Journalist Associations.

He also underscored that the VJA has truly become a “common house”, which gathers and widely unites journalists across the country, creating a useful and practical professional living environment for all levels of the Association, preserving the fire of professional passion, promoting the spirit of dedication of members, encouraging journalists to successfully implement the Party’s guidelines and resolutions, and the State’s policies and laws, promptly reflecting the country's great and comprehensive achievements in all fields, contributing to building humane, professional and modern press, for the benefit of the country and people.
At the conference, delegates from the Journalist Associations of many provinces and cities focused on analysing and evaluating the results achieved over 17 years since the organisation of the National Press Awards, as well as presenting current problems and shortcomings in the process of organising the Awards.
They also proposed and outlined solutions to innovate the Awards' operations to match the trend of digital transformation, further enhancing the position of the largest specialised awards in the country.
