Art programme marks 70th anniversary of Geneva Accords

ABO/NDO- An art programme entitled ‘An Epic Song’ was held in Quang Tri Province on August 11 to mark the 77th anniversary of the Wounded and Fallen Soldiers' Day and the 70th anniversary of the Geneva Accords.

The event was co-organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Quang Tri provincial authorities within the framework of the Festival for Peace 2024.

In his opening speech, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung said that the programme aims to reaffirm that the Party, State and people will never forget the great service of revolutionary predecessors, heroic martyrs, and wounded and sick soldiers.

Sharing the same view, Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and head of the PCC Commission for External Relations, called on ministries, sectors, and localities to make greater efforts to care for national contributors.

The event featured performances connecting events from the past to the present and future, to honour a generation of young people who were willing to set aside their studies and head to the battlefields at the call of the Fatherland.

The performances were brought to the stage by famous artists such as People’s Artist Quang Tho, singers Thanh Thanh Hien, Tung Duong, Anh Tho, Trong Tan, and Dang Duong, as well as local war veterans and children.
