Project launched to provide rice to disadvantaged children
ABO/NDO- The Foodbank Vietnam in coordination with the Farmers Vietnam network and GreenStyle social network held a ceremony on August 30 to announce the launch of the Green Rice project and introduce the Rice For The Children programme.
The goal of the Green Rice project is not only to provide food for disadvantaged people, vulnerable children, especially those in mountainous areas and ethnic minorities, but also to boost sustainable development in agriculture.

Accordingly, farmers participating in the project are encouraged to apply environmentally friendly farming methods, ensuring that quality of rice meets the highest food safety standards. This not only helps to protect consumers' health, but also contributes to protecting natural resources and ecosystems.
Nguyen Tuan Khoi, Chairman of Vietnam Food Bank and founder of the project, shared that Green Rice is not only a humanitarian project but also a symbol of innovation in using digital technology to develop a stable market for agricultural products, thereby supporting the economic life of farmers.
Through direct connection between farms and the network of local food banks, the project also helps reduce food waste and ensures that rice is delivered to those who really need it in the community.
Meanwhile, the Rice For The Children programme will benefit children in 63 provinces and cities, especially those in mountainous areas and ethnic minorities, with the goal of providing them with both nutrition and long-term nutrition counselling.
At the launch ceremony, the organisers presented rice and gifts worth more than 500,000 VND each to over 100 children at SOS Children's Village in Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City.
