Vietnamese students in Queensland supported in career orientation
ABO/NDO- The Association of Vietnamese Students in Queensland (AVSQ) has carried out a project to assist overseas Vietnamese students in Australia’s Queensland state in career orientation.
The project “Career Compass” featured three career days on Computer Science & Software Engineering, Design, and Accounting and Finance which are majors that are most selected by Vietnamese students in Australia.
During the career days, speakers were invited from big and prestigious Australian companies and associations to share with participating students their experiences and knowledge in job application, working skills and networking.

In addition, at the events, students were divided into groups to participate in work simulations. After 40-minutes group discussions, two groups were selected to present their solutions while invited speakers would give feedback and discussed the answers with the students.
Established on June 18, 2021, with the support of the Vietnamese Embassy in Australia and the Vietnamese General Consulate in Sydney, the AVSQ is a non-profit organisation that focuses on skill development and career orientation programmes for Vietnamese students in Queensland and Australia as a whole.
