Defence Minister pays tribute to President Ho Chi Minh

ABO/NDO- On March 6, a delegation of the Central Military Commission led by General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the commission, and Minister of National Defence, paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at the ATK Dinh Hoa national special relic site in Thai Nguyen Province.

The delegation was joined by Lieutenant General Nguyen Hong Thai, Commander of Military Region I, and Secretary of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee Trinh Viet Hung.

The delegates offered incense to President Ho at his memorial house in De mountain pass in Phu Dinh Commune, paying their deep gratitude to the great service of the national beloved leader to the country’s revolutionary cause.

Writing in the book of remembrance, General Phan Van Giang affirmed that the officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army will forever be grateful to the great President Ho Chi Minh and vow to study and follow his ideology, morality and lifestyle.

In any circumstances, they will always be absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland and the people; complete any assigned task; determined to firmly protect the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam, deserving the trust of the people, the minister stressed.

The same day, the delegation visited and planted a tree at the Pu Don Hill historical site in Tin Keo Hamlet, Phu Dinh Commune, Dinh Hoa District, Thai Nguyen Province, where President Ho Chi Minh presided over the ceremony to confer the rank of General, Commander-in-Chief of the National Army and Self-Defence Forces on Vo Nguyen Giap in 1948.
