A vital force in national construction and defence in new era

ABO/NDO- On 28 May in Ha Noi, the Viet Nam Association of the Elderly held a press conference to disseminate information about the celebration of the 30th anniversary of its founding (May 10, 1995 – May 10, 2025), and the 84th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Elderly in Viet Nam (June 6, 1941 –June 6, 2025). 

The celebration aims to promote widespread awareness across all levels, sectors, localities, associations of the elderly, members, and the elderly community about the glorious tradition of Viet Nam’s elderly; affirming the position, role, and outstanding achievements and results gained over 30 years of development and growth of the Viet Nam Association of the Elderly.

At the same time, it encourages and motivates all levels of the association, its members, and the elderly to continue to uphold tradition, build upon achievements and experience in the association’s development, striving to strengthen the organisation at all levels and effectively fulfil the tasks entrusted by the Party and the State.

The anniversary celebration will be held on 6 June 2025 in Ha Noi, with the participation of more than 300 delegates.

At the press conference, Vice President of the Viet Nam Association of the Elderly, Phan Van Hung, stated that the rapid ageing trend in Viet Nam is posing significant demands, requiring the association to continue to strengthen its organisation, renew its content and operational methods, unite and rally the elderly nationwide, and promote the Dien Hong tradition, contributing to the continued success of the revolutionary cause led by the Party, towards making Viet Nam a prosperous, happy, modern, and high-income developed country under socialist orientation.

The association will focus on several key tasks, notably enhancing communications efforts, fostering consensus among its officials and members regarding the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies and laws, especially those concerning organisational reforms in our country; ensuring that the Viet Nam Association of the Elderly truly becomes a bridge connecting the people with the Party and the State.
