Dien Bien inaugurates projects to mark anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory

ABO/NDO-The northern province Dien Bien inaugurated various projects on the afternoon of May 7 to commemorate the 71st anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory.

In the border commune of Thanh Hung, the Dien Bien Police and the PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation inaugurated a hospital with a total investment of 5 billion VND (192,000 USD).

The project is expected to help address the shortage of hospital rooms and enhance the diagnostic and treatment capacity of doctors and nurses, and provide healthcare for local residents as well as police officers from northern Lao provinces.

On the same day, Muong Thanh Group opened the Muong Thanh Luxury Dien Bien, its second hotel in Dien Bien Province and 62nd in its hotel chain nationwide.

Muong Thanh General Director Le Thi Hoang Yen said the hotel is rated five stars and features 155 high-end rooms, as well as services such as a restaurant, conference room, swimming pool and gym.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Dien Bien Chairman Le Thanh Do congratulated Muong Thanh on its new hotel in the former battlefield and affirmed the group’s significant contributions to the province.

He expected the group to continue pouring investment in culture and tourism to boost the province’s tourism industry.
