New book features President Ho Chi Minh's words on journalism
ABO/NDo- To mark the centenary of Viet Nam Revolutionary Press Day, the National Political Publishing House has released a book featuring President Ho Chi Minh’s teachings on the journalistic profession.
The publication presents a selection of 40 representative works written by President Ho Chi Minh between 1922 and 1962, including articles, speeches, letters, telegrams, and appeals addressed to readers, journalists, and media organisations both at home and abroad.
This collection affirms his consistent views on the role, responsibility, and ethical standards of Viet Nam's revolutionary press.
President Ho Chi Minh was not only a national liberation hero and an eminent cultural figure, but also a great revolutionary journalist. He laid the foundations for Viet Nam’s revolutionary press with the launch of Thanh Nien Newspaper on June 21, 1925.

In addition to founding and leading numerous publications, Ho Chi Minh personally authored many articles and trained and mentored journalists.
Regardless of his position, he consistently emphasised that the press must first and foremost serve the revolution and the people. He viewed the press as a powerful ideological and cultural weapon, and the voice of the Party, the State, and the working people.
He was critical of formalism, dogmatism, and rigid thinking in journalism, instead urging journalists to adopt a writing style that is concise, clear, focused, insightful, and grounded in real life.
He placed particular emphasis on journalistic ethics, insisting that journalists should embody revolutionary virtues, remain close to the people, live with honesty and humility, and take full responsibility for every word they write.
This book serves not only as a valuable reference on Ho Chi Minh’s journalistic thought and style, but also as a guiding compass for journalists in the current era.
