Ceremony marks 75-year tradition of Viet Nam's youth volunteer force

ABO/NDO- A ceremony was held in Ha Noi on July 15 to mark the 75th founding anniversary of the Viet Nam’s Youth Volunteer Force (July 15, 1950 – 2025).

The event was co-organised by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) Central Committee and the Central Committee of Viet Nam Former Youth Volunteers Association.

Speaking at the event, Nguyen Minh Triet, Secretary of the HCYU Central Committee and President of the Vietnamese Students’ Association Central Committee, stressed that the establishment and development of the Viet Nam’s Youth Volunteer Force stands as a symbol of the pioneering spirit of Viet Nam’s youth under the leadership of the Party and our beloved President Ho Chi Minh.

It is recognised as one of the brilliant chapters in the glorious history of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

The contributions of the former youth volunteers over the past 75 years will forever serve as a shining example for generations of young people to follow, he said, adding that the HCYU and the country’s youth are always proud of and grateful for the great services, noble sacrifices, and outstanding achievements of the force.

He reported that the HCYU has closely coordinated with the Viet Nam Former Youth Volunteers Association in developing initiatives that support the material and spiritual well-being of former youth volunteers.

At the ceremony, the organisers awarded medals to 22 outstanding former youth volunteers and presented gifts to 50 others living in difficult circumstances.
