US-Vietnam historic female diplomacy items presented to museum
ABO/VNA - In 1965, a delegation from the US-based Women Strike for Peace organisation, including lawyer Nancy Hollander, had a significant diplomatic meeting with the Vietnamese delegations in Jakarta, Indonesia. Items from the historic meeting were donated to the Vietnamese Women’s Museum on March 7.
The over 450 donated documents and items consist of various letters, reports, notebooks, and magazines.
These pieces of history are evidence of the common views of women from both countries in the fight against the American war in Vietnam.
The donation handover event also saw the reunion of Nancy Hollander and her friend, Nguyen Thi Binh, after many years. Binh is former Vice-President of the Republic of Vietnam and head of the delegation of Women’s Association for the Liberation of South Vietnam.
