Vietnamese watermelon seeds exported to Japan for first time
ABO/VNA - Vietnam has exported to Japan its first batch of 8.1 kilograms of watermelon seeds, produced by farmers in the Mekong Delta province of Hau Giang.
After two years of research and a pilot programme, 8.1 kilograms of watermelon seeds of seedless watermelons, produced by farmers in Hau Giang province, have been exported to Japan with the support of Loc Troi Group and Japan’s Hagihara Farm Company.
The initial production met the high standards required by Japan.
The first batch of 8.1 kilograms of watermelon seeds exported to Japan was an initial success.
It is hoped that with investment and technical support, local farmers will be capable of producing many more items meeting the world’s highest standards.
