Defence co-operation with Cuba significant: Minister Thanh

Defence Minister General Phung Quang Thanh has affirmed that bilateral defence co-operation between Vietnam and Cuba has greatly contributed to ensuring independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity in each country.

The partnership has also played an important role in protecting the political stability, peace and prosperity of both nations, the minister said during a meeting with Colonel Otto Danlcourt Cesar, head of the Cuban Interior Ministry’s directorate of cryptography in Hanoi on March 4.

He hailed Otto Danlcourt Cesar’s visit, saying that it will help strengthen friendship and bilateral affiliations between the two armies and peoples.

On his part, Otto Danlcourt Cesar said he hopes both sides will continue speeding up co-operation activities.

He stated that his visit is part of efforts to promote the time-honoured and sound friendship between the two armies and peoples.
