NA Chairman meets women leaders and parliamentarian
National Assembly (NA) Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung on March 14 met women members of parliament from Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam, and ambassadors and representatives from international organisations in Vietnam on the occasion of International Women's Day and ahead of the 132nd Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly (IPU-132), scheduled to be held in Hanoi from March 28 to April 1.

NA Chairman Hung sent his regards to the female leaders who are contributing significantly to the development of Vietnam and the world, as well as for the stronger relations between Vietnam and the international community.
The top legislator reaffirmed Vietnam's consistent policy of supporting the tireless efforts in order to build an equitable society for everyone.
The IPU-132 themed ‘The Sustainable Development Goals: Turning Words into Action’ is seen not only as a good opportunity for Vietnam to introduce its land and people but also confirm its determination to ensure equal rights and opportunities for its people, he noted.
The NA Chairman emphasised that sustainable development means establishing an equitable social environment, and gender equality objectives will be integrated into all activities of sustainable development goals similar to the process of realizing millennium goals.
The NA leader also expressed his hope that the women deputies would continue to bring into full play what they achieved and contribute further to promoting equality and advancement for all people around the world.
At the meeting, the delegates were also briefed on the IPU-132, activities of women parliamentarians and other contents related to gender equality, women and children to be discussed at the upcoming event.
