Minister Quang’s visit to Singapore was made by Deputy PM, Minister for Home Affairs, Co-ordinating Minister for National Security and Minister-in-charge of the Civil Service Teo Chee Hean.

During the talks between Minister Quang and the Singaporean Deputy PM the same day, Deputy PM Teo Chee Hean gave a warm welcome to Minister Quang and the Vietnamese delegation to Singapore and noted his pleasure with the growing friendship and co-operation between the two countries.

The Singaporean Deputy PM emphasised that the Vietnamese Minister’s visit contributed to boosting the two nations’ relations, showing Vietnam’s respect for international co-operation in preventing and fighting crimes and asserting the nation as a responsible member in the international community.

For his part, Minister Tran Dai Quang spoke highly of the effective co-operation between the two sides in fighting crimes, especially high-tech and trans-national crimes and drug trafficking.

He said he hoped that the two sides would bring into full play their mechanism in order to strengthen their co-ordination in a more effective manner.
