The visit was made at the invitation of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) under the RoK’s Ministry Foreign Affairs as part of the non-refundable assistance and technical cooperation project between the two countries in 2015.
RoK experts will share their country’s experience of science-technology innovation and development and sustainable development with their Vietnamese counterparts during the visit.
They will also discuss a number of topics related to the “Vietnam Report 2035”, focusing on the overall plan of the report and difficulties facing Vietnam in producing the report.
The Vietnamese delegates will meet with representatives from ministries and departments of the RoK to compare notes on contents that will be included in the report.
According to KOICA President Kim Young-mok, the visit is expected to assist with the assessment of Vietnam’s development process, thus defining long and medium-term plans for Vietnam in the future.
He said that his agency will continue its support for Vietnam in the building process of the report through sending experts and compiling opinions.
At the beginning of 2014, the Prime Minister signed a decision to set up the Steering Committee for building the “ Vietnam Report 2035”, which will be produced under the assistance of the World Bank in Vietnam.
The production of the report was officially kicked off in September last year.
