At the meeting, participants discussed a programme, which aims to connect the two countries’ enterprises during the visit of a Vietnamese business delegation to Argentina scheduled for next August.
A wide range of Vietnamese products for export and the country’s import demands were also introduced.
On the occasion, the embassy’s representatives also held a meeting with officials from the Chamber of Commerce of the Southern Common Market (Mercosur) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
The two sides exchanged views on a plan to implement the agreements reached with Vietnamese enterprises during the Chamber delegation’s visit to Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines and Singapore earlier this month.
The Mercosur-ASEAN Chamber of Commerce was established in June to promote economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.
Bilateral trade between Vietnam and Uruguay reached US$124 million last year, of which Vietnam’s exports were valued at US$41 million.
In the first five months of this year, Vietnam exported goods worth US$11 million to the South American country along with US$25 million in imports.
Vietnam exported sports footwear, electronics and marine products to Uruguay, and imported leather, material, wood, cereals, beef and cotton.
