Rosler expressed the hope that Vietnam would continue engaging in WEF activities while conveying support for the country’s initiative to hold the WEF-Mekong Conference 2016.
He also hoped that Vietnam would consider hosting the WEF on East Asia in the future.
The PM, for his part, stated Vietnam’s commitment to joining WEF-initiated activities.
He also asked the WEF to help Vietnam improve its competitiveness and business climate in addition to promoting sustainable farming.
At a reception for Rosler held on the same day, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh congratulated the WEF on being recognised as an International Institution for Public-Private Cooperation by the Swiss government, hoping that the WEF, with its new status, would continue promoting public-private partnerships in global economic affairs.
Vietnam is willing to foster coordination with the WEF in fields of shared interest, including economic development and national competitiveness improvement, Minh said.
The host also urged the WEF to encourage conglomerates and experts to do business in and share experience with Vietnam.
