Earlier on July 31, the Deputy PM had a meeting with Speaker of the Mozambique Parliament Veronica Macamo who noted that economic and trade partnership between Mozambique and Vietnam has yet to match their high co-operation potentials.
In the future, both sides should work closely to boost friendship and co-operation in all fields, including legislation, she said, expressing hope that the Vietnamese government delegation’s visit will open a new chapter in bilateral ties.
On his part, the Deputy PM briefed his host on the socio-economic situation in Vietnam, stating that with similarities between the two countries, Vietnam and Mozambique could support each other for mutual progress.
The same day, Hai and his entourage visited Movitel, a joint venture between Vietnam’s Viettel Group and Mozambique’s telecommunications sector. After three years in operation, Movitel has risen as one of the three largest telecommunication firms in the African country.
Also on July 31, the Deputy PM attended a ceremony to mark the 40th anniversary of the Vietnam-Mozambique diplomatic ties.
Addressing the event, Vietnam’s Deputy Foreign Minister Vu Hong Nam and his Mozambique counterpart Nyeleti Mondlane noted that over the past four decades, the bilateral relationship has expanded significantly.
They expressed belief that the Deputy PM’s visit would further deepen economic, trade and investment collaboration between the two countries.
Earlier, Hai had a meeting with the Vietnamese community in Mozambique, including many agricultural, education and health experts, before visiting the Matola industrial port and Mozambique’s Stema company.
