President of Iceland visits Tien Giang

On November 7, Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Tran Thanh Duc welcomed President of Iceland Ólafur Ragnar Grimsson and his wife on Tien Giang's visit as part of his four-day official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of Vietnamese State President Truong Tan Sang. Leader of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and twelve Icelandic enterprises attended.

Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Tran Thanh Duc expressed the province’s great pleasure to welcome President of Iceland Ólafur Ragnar Grimsson and his wife visting Tien Giang as well as introduced to the delegation natural features, the situation of economic development - social of Tien Giang province in recent years.

After the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Tran Thanh Duc guided President of Iceland Ólafur Ragnar Grimsson and the delegtion to Thoi Son island, enjoyed fruits, listened tradional music, learnt about cultural life of people and visited floating fish-breeding cages in Thoi Son island, My Tho city.

President of Iceland Ólafur Ragnar Grimsson thanked for warmly welcome of Tien Giang leaders. He said that it was interesting visit and as well as special expression by friendly affection and hospitality of Tien Giang’s people.
