President of the Belgian Senate wraps up Vietnam visit
President of the Belgian Senate Christine Defraigne and her entourage will leave Ho Chi Minh City early November 8, wrapping up her official visit to Vietnam from November 1-8 at the invitation of Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Sinh Hung.

The visit created an opportunity for both sides to enhance experience sharing and co-operation between the two countries’ legislative bodies, contributing to promoting and deepening sound collaboration between the two countries and the two peoples.
The Belgian guest valued the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in promoting bilateral ties in many fields of both countries’ strength and potential, particularly in economics, trade, investment, culture, creation, education and training.
During her stay, Defraigne held talks with NA Chairman Hung, met with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Deputy PM and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh. She met with Minister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh and Minister of Education and Training Pham Vu Luan. She also attended the ongoing 10th session of the 13th tenure NA.
During the talks, the two sides agreed to boost co-operation between the two countries’ legislative bodies, maintain delegation exchanges at all levels, continue implementing effective joint projects and further co-operation in logistics, technology, green growth and vocational training.
The Belgian guest visited and worked with leaders of Quang Ninh provine, Hai Phong city, Ho Chi Minh City and Ba Ria-Vung Tau province. The delegation also visited the Dinh Vu Industrial Zone in Hai Phong city; the Central Scientific Document Film Studio, 108 Military Hospital in Hanoi, Children’s Hospital No.2 and the Mekong Plus non-governmental organisation in Ho Chi Minh City, and several Belgium companies based in Binh Duong province.
The delegation laid flowers to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh and visited his relic site in Hanoi.
