President Truong Tan Sang attends APEC meeting in Manila

President Truong Tan Sang and his spouse, along with a high-ranking official Vietnamese delegation, leave Hanoi on November 17 for the capital Manila of the Philippines to attend the 23rd Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting.

The participation is made at the invitation of Philippine President Benigno Aquino III.

The President is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh; Head of the Presidential Office Dao Viet Trung; Deputy Defence Minister Le Chiem; Vietnam Ambassador to the Philippines Truong Trieu Duong; Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son; Deputy Minister of Public Security Tran Tan; Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Quoc Khanh; and Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vu Tien Loc.

The Vietnamese delegation is expected to contribute to the 23rd meeting’s key components, especially economic connectivity; human resources development; food safety; and micro-, small- and medium-sized businesses.
