Receiving Argentine Ambassador Claudio Ricardo Gutierrez, the President appreciated the ambassador’s contributions to boosting the friendship and co-operation between the two countries.
The President and the Ambassador recognised the sound development of the bilateral relationship in many fields, including the strengthening of political ties, the expansion of economic and trade co-operation via inter-governmental mechanisms and the significant increase of bilateral trade.
President Quang stressed that Vietnam considers Argentina as one of its leading partners in South America.
For his part, Gutierrez said Vietnam is an important gateway for Argentina and other South American countries to enter the Southeast Asian region and noted that the two countries have great potential to boost co-operation.
Via Ambassador Gutierrez, President Quang conveyed an invitation to the Argentine President to visit Vietnam. The Ambassador said he hopes the trip will take place in 2017, which will be an important milestone for the Vietnam-Argentina relationship.
In his reception for Myanmar Ambassador Win Hlaing, President Quang thanked the government of Myanmar for creating favourable conditions for Vietnamese companies to do business in the country and emphasised that there is potential for bilateral co-operation in agriculture and tourism.
Ambassador Win Hlaing said Vietnam and Myanmar have a lot of opportunities to expand cooperation, especially in economics, trade and investment. Vietnam is the eighth largest investor in Myanmar with a total investment capital of US$700 million.
The ambassador said Myanmar hopes that the ninth meeting of the mixed committee on Vietnam-Myanmar bilateral co-operation, slated for 2017 in Vietnam, will focus on solutions to boost Vietnam’s investment in Myanmar.
