Vietnam always gives priority and provides support to Malaysian firms doing business in the country, he assured.
The PM expressed his delight to see Malaysia as one of the major trade and investment partners of Vietnam.
A number of Malaysian projects have been of benefit to the socio-economic development of both countries, notably the Da Nang industrial park and Phuc Loc Vien residential area in Da Nang’s Son Tra district – a joint-venture project between Malaysia’s Massada Land and the city’s development investment fund.
As Vietnam is accelerating banking restructuring, the PM asked for support in both capital and technology from Malaysia, and believed that the CIMB bank, which has recently been licensed to operate in Vietnam, will run effectively and bring benefits to both sides.
He also expressed an invitation to other Malaysian banks to enter the country.
Cheng Wing Sum, for his part, wished that the Vietnamese government would continue providing support for Malaysian businesses in Vietnam.
Speaking highly of Da Nang’s economic prospects, Cheng Wing Sum expressed interest in launching urban development projects in the city and becoming a partner of Vietnam and Da Nang in particular.
