He hoped that the Japanese side would give priority to investing in energy and environmentally friendly projects in Vietnam, maintain official development assistance (ODA) for the country and promote links between Japanese and Vietnamese locales and enterprises in agriculture and high technology.
The host expressed his hope that Ambassador Kunio Umeda would do his best to foster the intensive strategic partnership between the two nations.
For his part, Ambassador Kunio Umeda promised to do his utmost to boost bilateral relations in all fields, especially economic affairs, security and defence and people-to-people exchange.
He affirmed Vietnam was an important priority in his country’s comprehensive cooperation promotion policy, saying that Japanese firms were very interested in Vietnam.
Relevant agencies of both nations were joining hands to prepare for Japanese Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko’s visit to Vietnam and to accelerate the implementation of key cooperation projects, he noted.
