The Party chief expressed his profound gratitude for the invaluable support that the Cambodian People’s Party and the Cambodian government and people have provided to Vietnam during the struggle for national liberation and reunification, as well as the current task of construction and development.
He asked Hun Sen to offer continued assistance to Vietnamese nationals and enterprises, making it easier for them to lead a stable life and help with fostering the traditional friendship between the two nations.
Hun Sen, for his part, spoke highly of the results of the cooperation between the two Parties over the past few years and thanked Vietnam for providing its immense, invaluable, pure, effective and timely support in saving Cambodians from genocide and preventing the Khmer Rouge régime from returning to power, as well as promoting national development at present.
Informing the host of the outcomes of talks with Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc the same day, Hun Sen expressed his wish to nurture bilateral solidarity and friendship.
He also expressed his sympathy over the losses recently suffered by residents in the central region and affirmed that no matter how the world situation may change, the ties between Cambodia and Vietnam are unchangeable.
The two leaders shared the view that the two neighbouring countries need to stay united for the benefit of their two peoples and for mutual development.
