Party chief hosts outgoing Chinese ambassador

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong has appreciated the important contributions made by Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Hong Xiaoyong to the bilateral relations in recent years.

During a reception for the outgoing ambassador in Hanoi on February 8, the Party chief praised the diplomat’s efforts in expanding the exchanges between sectors, localities and the people of the two countries.

He called on both sides to effectively implement the agreements reached by the two nations, asking the ambassador to continue contributing to the Vietnam-China traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

For his part, Hong Xiaoyong thanked the leaders of the Vietnamese Party, State, ministries, sectors and localities for their great support for him during his working tenure in Vietnam.

He expressed his impression on Vietnam’s significant achievements across fields, as well as the fruitful development of the relations between the two Parties and States.

The diplomat affirmed that China wants to join Vietnam to continue strengthening political trust, promoting practical cooperation in all spheres, expanding people-to-people exchange, and reinforcing the friendship for mutual development and for the benefits of the two countries’ people.
