PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc receives JPMorgan Chase chairman

ABO/NDO - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has said that he expects JPMorgan Chase to help further the Vietnam-US relationship and encourage more US companies to invest in Vietnam.

The Vietnamese Government leader made the statement while receiving Jamie Dimon, the US banking giant’s Chairman and CEO, on May 3.

He stated that Vietnam is restructuring its economy and calls for the engagement of major partners like JPMorgan Chase and pledged to create favourable conditions for US firms to succeed in Vietnam.

The Prime Minister added that Vietnam is striving to improve its business environment and is calling on large US corporations to invest in such areas as finance, banking, energy and advanced technology.

For his part, Dimon said he was impressed with Vietnam’s strong growth and its deepening economic reforms.

He said that the Vietnamese Government is going in the right direction, especially in its efforts to restructure the banking system and equitise state-owned enterprises which JPMorgan Chase is willing to take part in.

The US businessman affirmed the bank’s wish to do long-term business in Vietnam and provide the best financial services to Vietnamese enterprises and credit institutions.
