Chairman of the PPC hosts the new Consul General of Cuba

ABO - Chairman of the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee (PPC) Le Van Huong hosted receptions for the new Consul General of Cuba in Ho Chi Minh city, on December 18.

At the reception, Ms. Indira Lopez Arguelles, expressed her deep joy and deep respect for solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Cuba throughout the long history of resistance. She thanked the leaders of Tien Giang province for spending their time in hosting the delegation despite very busy work.

At the same time, the new Consul General of Cuba in Ho Chi Minh city expressed her great impression on the socio-economic development of Tien Giang province in the past time. She hoped that during her tenure in Vietnam, she will receive the sharing of experience in socio-economic development of Tien Giang province as well as desire of Tien Giang province and Cuba to develop cooperation in economic and trade.

Director of the Foreign Affairs Department Luu Van Phi introduced the new Consul General of Cuba on the socio-economic development of the province in the past year as well as the general introduction of some potentials and strengths of the province. It was known that in 2017, the export turnover of Tien Giang province to Cuba as 35,200 USD. In the first 7 months of 2018, the export turnover of Tien Giang province to Cuba increased to 46.0548 USD with fish fillets and clams.

Chairman of the PPC Le Van Huong expressed his pleasure to welcome the new Cuban Consul General and congratulated the new term of the Consul General in Ho Chi Minh city. Chairman of the PPC expressed his affection and affirmed that Vietnam - Cuba always has a good relationship. Besides, the Chairman of the PPC emphasized: Tien Giang province is willing to exchange experiences, call for investment as well as cooperation with Cuba in all fields. Accordingly, Cuban investors can find opportunities for cooperation and investment in Tien Giang province and vice versa.

After a friendly greeting with the provincial leaders, the new Cuban Consul General visited the Ap Bac relic site.
