Addressing the meeting, NA Chairwoman Ngan affirmed that the female ambassadors and heads of diplomatic representative offices and international organisations have accompanied Vietnam on its path towards gender equality for an animated, inclusive and prosperous future.

She highly appreciated Vinh Phuc’s socio-economic development results, asking the province to continue building on those achievements to further contribute to the development of the Red River Delta region in particular and the country as a whole.

Throughout history, Vietnamese women, regardless of their position, have always shown their roles, bravery and wisdom, positively contributing to the process of socio-economic development, national industrialisation, and modernisation, international integration, national construction and protection, and preserving the nation's fine cultural traditions, the NA leader said.

She added that Vietnam successfully organised the Meeting of the APF Network of Parliamentarian Women, through which many issues related to women were shared, considered and discussed, such as practices and experiences in implementing international agreements in the field of gender equality and women's rights, the application of digital technology in women’s startups, and woman and child trafficking in the Francophonie space.

Vietnam will continue to be a responsible participant in the women parliamentarian’s conferences at the International Parliamentary Forum (IPU), the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, and followed by the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF), the senior legislator affirmed.

She highly appreciated and expressed her gratitude for the companionship and support of the international community, represented by the female ambassadors and heads of diplomatic representative offices and international organisations in Vietnam, through which Vietnam can learn valuable lessons of experience from countries, receive assistance in terms of both resources and techniques to accelerate the integration process, realise the objectives set out in the Agenda 2030 on sustainable development towards inclusive growth, as well as accompanying Vietnam on the road to achieving gender equality for a dynamic, inclusive and prosperous future

The NA leader congratulated the female delegates from both at home and abroad, asking them to continue promoting their capabilities and intellect, while inspiring an enthusiastic flame in other women in order to reach the goal of equality and progress for everyone.

For her part, Armenian Ambassador to Vietnam Raisa Vardanyan warmly congratulated the Vietnamese women on the occasion of International Women’s Day, stating that the leadership of Vietnamese women is significant at both the national and international level, representing and supporting feminist policies and important decisions related to women.

Earlier, NA Chairwoman Ngan and the delegation paid a floral tribute and planted memorial trees at the Hai Ba Trung (Trung Sisters) Temple in Hanoi’s Me Linh district. They were the first two national heroines who fought against foreign invaders to defend the country. The Hai Ba Trung Uprising entered the history of the Vietnamese nation as a testament to the strong will and strength of Vietnamese women in the cause of national construction and defence.
