Vietnam – Thailand defence cooperation boosted
ABO/NDO – On the sidelines of the 2020 ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM) Retreat in Hanoi, Defence Minister Gen. Ngo Xuan Lich on February 19 received Gen. Chaichan Changmongkol, Deputy Defence Minister of Thailand.

Minister Lich thanked Thailand for its support to Vietnam in the country’s ASEAN chairmanship year and its sharing of experiences in holding military-defence conferences and activities in 2020.
For his part, the Thai General spoke highly of the host country’s preparations and the success of the retreat. He expressed support to Vietnam in the ASEAN chairmanship year and pledged to realise all the contents in the joint statement of the ASEAN defence ministers on cooperation against diseases and epidemics.
Rejoicing at the fine development in the defence ties between the two countries, the sides agreed to continue implementing all the cooperation contents in an effective way in the time to come. General Lich also extended invitation to Thai defence firms to participate in an international exhibition on the defence industry and equipment to be held in Vietnam.
