Tourist to Tien Giang province increased nearly 9.5% in 2017

According to the Tien Giang province Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in 2017, Tien Giang province welcomed nearly 1, 850,000 tourists in 2017, increased 9.5% over the same period. In which, foreign tourists reached nearly 719, 900 visitors, increased  8.7% over the same period, domestic visitors reached more than 1,130,000 visitors, increased  nearly 10% over the same period.

Tourists mainly visited Thoi Son islet, Dong Hoa Hiep village, Dong Tam snake farm, Vinh Trang pagoda and other tourist sites in the province. In 2017, the turnover from tourism enterprises reached more than VND786 trillion, reached nearly 109% of the plan, increased 25% over 2016.

According to forecast, tourists will continue to increase in the coming time, especially in the occasion of the Tet Lunar New Year 2018. In order to keep up the current growth momentum, in the future, tourism companies should continue to invest in quality service, landscape, environment, infrastructure and promote the strengths and characteristics of tourism in the river region to propagate as well as impress tourists when coming to Tien Giang.
