The amount of essential goods reserved for the Lunar New Year focuses on commodities with high demand such as rice, sugar, cooking oil, monosodium glutamate, cattle, poultry, etc... to ensure the balance between supply and demand, not to cause price fluctuations both or lack of peak occasions.

Enterprises must ensure the goods reserve according to the assigned plans and encourage the sale of goods with prices lower than 5 percent or more of the same type goods at the time of price registration.

Vice Chairman of Tien Giang provincial People’s Committee Le Van Nghia has asked the Department of Commerce and Industry to cooperate with local relevant agencies to increase their checks and controls over trading activities on essential goods over the Tet Festival. These goods include livestock and poultry meat products, and various kinds of beverages, cakes, candies, fruit and fuel products.

The focus will be on ensuring food safety and hygiene, as well as ensuring that the goods are sold at the displayed prices under the local market price stabilisation programme.
