This statement was made by President Tran Dai Quang while he was chairing a conference in Hanoi on February 15 to review co-ordination activities among central agencies in the judiciary and internal affairs sectors in 2016 as well as to set out tasks for 2017.

Addressing the event, the President noted that he appreciated the achievements that the central judiciary and internal affairs agencies gained in their co-ordination in the past year.

He asked the agencies to pay much attention to fighting economic and other crimes, particularly corruption, significantly contributing to the cause of Party-building and reorganising the Party and building a clean and strong state, as well as maintaining national security and social order and safety.

It is highly essential to strengthen co-ordination in law making, focusing on giving consultation to complete the Criminal Code, and in guiding the application of the law, said the State leader.

He urged the interdisciplinary agencies to actively advise the Central Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and the Central Steering Committee for Judicial Reform on preventing and fighting corruption and undertaking judiciary reform.

The sectors need to enhance information exchanges to ensure the accuracy and consistency of the information and data as a basis for assessing the situation and developing guidelines and policies related to the country’s socio-economic development, noted President Quang.

The President stressed the importance of building and implementing co-ordination mechanisms among agencies for training judiciary officials, meeting the requirements of judiciary reform posed by the new situation.
